Day. François. Vigilance - Spiritual Lies - Book Three. Sherbrooke: Fideweb, April 2019. 716p. Can one make peace with the other? Can one make peace with themselves? Sometimes, the common enemy is the tool by which different individuals find common ground. But this reason is often insufficient and temporary. To resist the fear and uncertainty which sometimes assails cultures, one must go beyond those simple convenient alliances. One must get to the root of the problem and open a true dialogue with the other. And what can be said of all those lies that are presented as fact, but which are truly only concrete manifestations of our most visceral fears? Day. François. Vigilance - In Flames - Book Two. Sherbrooke: Fideweb, June 2017. 612p.
What happens when, upon discovery of the other, you start learning about yourself? And what happens when this other self starts challenging all of your life's principles? The battle is often inevitable when encountering cultural shock, but the manner in which this battle is fought says a lot more about ourselves than we might believe. In book two of the Vigilance trilogy, it's those dynamics of conflict of the self versus the stranger, but also of the self against those of shared culture, that is explored.

Day, François. Vigilance - The Sisters' Journey - Book One. Sherbrooke: Fideweb, Feb. 2016, 672p. Behind a thematic of culture shock, the story introduces the reader to a relatively peaceful world, at least on the surface, where unspoken history between cultures has allowed resentment to fester between the new settlers and the tribes who previously held the land before being pushed back. Characters from these outcast tribes will find themselves involved in a socio-spiritual quest that will considerably change them as they confront the realities of those that displaced them. At the end of the road, the isolation of the mountains will be replaced by a knowledge born from the discovery of the other and the uncertainties such an encounter may bring to established ideas. -- François Day, from the press release You can order a paper copy (35$) of the book HERE, or from the author. Day, François. Movements in the Ether, 2nd ed. Sherbrooke: Fideweb, Nov. 2015, 216p.
"We are moved by what we experience, and what moves us can change us, if we let it. Out in the empty sky, on the ocean's surface and up to the infinite stars, in varied ways of locomotion, artificial and living, thrust into divergent directions, the stories will let you know what meaning they carry, if any. "This book offers a collection of short stories, where fantasy and science fiction meet ideas, anecdotes and tales from the past, present and future. Words to entertain, reflections to enlighten, notions to challenge. A bit presumptuous, perhaps, but sincere in its simplicity, for you to enjoy." - François Day, from back cover of the book.
